Golf Swing Pull - How to Stop Pulling the Ball and Shoot Better Scores Virtually Overnight!

The golf swing pull is one of the most frustrating aspects of the swing that causes many players to be inconsistent and not shoot the kind of scores they are capable of. In order to stop pulling the golf ball you must first understand the mechanics of this, and how to get back on the track for more accuracy. Here I am going to explain why pulling the ball happens, and what you can do to fix it.

First and foremost the setup position and the mechanics of the golf swing are the key reasons why you are pulling the golf ball. The first thing that you must examine is your address position. Many people who pull the ball start with the shoulders opened or closed. This alignment flaw can make you hit shots all over the course, making it difficult to play your best golf.

Golf

In addition to your stance and shoulder alignment, one swing flaw is normally responsible for the pull. Most people who pull the ball come too far to the inside on the backswing, and this causes a chain of events leading to an over the top golf swing and a flipping of the wrists, resulting in a golf swing pull.

To stop this from happening, you need to practice taking the club away in a one piece motion with your hands, arms, and shoulders moving back in one piece. Keep the club head outside of your hands on the takeaway on order to keep from pulling the club too far to the inside on the takeaway. This will help you get better separation throughout your golf swing, resulting in longer and straighter shots.

The golf swing pull is something that can be corrected if you will just spend some time on the range practicing and learn to take it to the course.

Boost Team Spirit! Great Ideas For High School Sports Booster Clubs

July had become our new vacation month. After years of dodging the "dog days" of August up in Lake George, NY our family had to adapt to a new schedule. Starting in 1995, August revolved around High School fall sports and their pre-season practices. So over the years as our four participated in soccer, field hockey and football during the month of August, I became involved with the various team booster clubs. While the kids ran, lifted, sweated and practiced, I was busy with the Boosters getting activities planned for the season. High school sports booster clubs, if run with spirit and enthusiasm, are a great means of boosting team spirit.

Between our four children and all the various sports, we have had both superstars and bench sitters. However, I think they would all agree that team sports overall were a great experience. By broadening the focus of the various high school sports booster clubs from fund raising to "fun raising", these organizations can enhance the team experience and encourage team spirit.. Booster clubs can help make each player feel a sense of belonging. Over the years, our Booster Club activities ranged from Team Tailgates, to door decorating, player gifts and Kick Off parties. By providing some balance of fun with the rigors of athletics, booster clubs can spread the team spirit. It takes time and energy to put together a pre-game breakfast for 80 football players, but it is well worth the effort. What started as a pre-playoff event, turned into a weekly Saturday morning café hosted by the Dads! It was such a huge hit, that by the time my younger son was playing, we could have run a restaurant. For Friday night games, we organized "post walk through" dinners on Thursday nights.

Golf

Our girls were not left out in the cold. Soccer and Field Hockey benefited from booster club energies. They had a season Family Kick Off party. Funds short.. we improvised and assigned each grade level a category; desserts, drinks or salads. Seniors exempt! We used booster club funds for the pizzas. It was the perfect compromise! For more fun, we let the kids design team practice shirts, complete with their own tag line. They were meant for the practice field but the kids wore them all over the place. We made "pride pins" with the team mascot, player name and number for the parents. These buttons were so popular that they found their way into the locker rooms and a generic version turned out to be a great club fundraiser!

So as your son or daughter heads out to the practice field this August, find out who is running their team booster club and volunteer. Your child will appreciate it, you will enjoy it and you will have a whole new group of friends by the end of the season. We still have "team reunion" parties with one of our booster groups and it is 6years later. Check out some more fun team spirit ideas at Celebration Ideas Online Team Spirit Ideas

Tips For Correcting A Golf Slice

Correcting a golf slice is the fastest way to shave strokes off of your golf game. Slicing a golf ball is one of the most common errors that an average player makes.

Some golfers remain frustrated for years because they never find out why they are slicing a golf ball. But if you are ever going to become a good golfer, correcting a golf slice is a must. These simple tips will show you how to cure golf slices just by practicing some basic golf swing tips and instructions.

Golf

Proper Golf Stance

A proper golf stance should be about as wide as your shoulders. Make sure your shoulders are aligned at your target. Point your right foot straight ahead and point your left foot slightly to the left. Keep your elbows as natural as possible to maintain a proper golf stance.

Even minor adjustments to your stance can make major changes in where your golf ball will end up. Practice the proper golf stance at the driving range and make small adjustments until you get the results you are looking for.

Proper Golf Club Grip

Another common way of correcting a golf slice is adjusting your hands for a proper golf club grip. Grip the golf club with your left hand and put your thumb along the shaft.

The line between your thumb and index finger should be pointing toward your right eye. Wrap your right hand over your left and rest your left thumb into your right palm.

A common mistake most right handed golfers make is gripping the club too tight with the right hand causing the ball to hook towards the left. But the opposite is true with a slice. A weak grip creates an open club face causing your ball to slice to the right.

The best way of correcting a golf slice caused by your grip is roll your hands back so that your non dominant back hand faces the target and your dominant back hand faces the opposite direction.

Practice the proper golf club grip at the driving range to determine if this is what's causing you to slice the ball. Take your time and make small adjustments to your grip. Even though a proper golf club grip seems simple, it is one of the most common ways of correcting a golf slice.

Correct Golf Swing Mechanics

Correct golf swing mechanics is another cure for correcting a golf slice. A proper golf backswing starts with your hands, is immediately followed by your arms and shoulders all in one smooth motion.

A proper golf downswing begins with your hips, keeping your eyes on the ball and your head behind the ball as you follow through. Once you practice the correct golf swing mechanics, you'll be amazed at how quick you will lower your golf score.

Becoming a good golfer is a matter of practicing and playing on a regular basis while developing good habits. Small changes can often make a big difference in your score. Once you practice correcting a golf slice you'll soon be hearing, "great shot!"

Golf Swing Tip Instructions - How To Draw The Ball

If you want to learn the secret to drawing the ball, then these golf swing tip instructions will give you some much needed help.

If you're like most golfers, slicing the ball has never been a part of your golf game that you've needed to practice on, it's just come naturally. But, drawing the ball is a different story. You're not alone though, as upwards of 90% of all golfers have problems with slicing the ball.

Golf

So, how do you go about changing that and start hitting a draw? Here are some quick tips.

1. We're going to assume that you are right-handed. If not you just need to reverse these instructions. You begin by taking a 5-iron and setting up to the ball as you normally do.

2. Now, you will need to move your feet to the right of your intended target area. To get the correct angle is going to take some practice, but begin with 10 degrees right of your target. If that's not enough, then you can simply make more adjustments.

3. Next, you will maintain the face of your 5-iron pointing at your intended target.

4. Maintain your normal golf grip and swing at the ball. Keep your regular follow through.

If you have several balls in a row that hook too much, or not enough, make some additional adjustments with your stance.

As with any golf swing tip instructions, the key to success is practice. With that in mind, keep these points in mind:

-Practice drawing the golf ball with every club in your bag.

-Don't change your regular golf swing. Make the adjustments with your stance or grip, but you don't want to change your golf swing.

-Start out drawing the ball slightly to allow your body and your mind to get a feel for it. You can always practice more serious draws in due time.

-Consider taking a golf lesson if you can. You can find more information on golf tips and lessons at the end of this article.

Learning to hit a simple draw is not difficult if you put these golf swing tip instructions to work for you. In fact, I believe you can be hitting it consistently in a short amount of time. As you do, you'll start to notice increased distance and no more slices.

Best Golf Balls For High Handicap

Within this article we will be discussing golf balls for high handicap but first we want to take the time to explain to you what high handicap means in terms of golfing. Chances are if you have watched a golf tournament you have heard the word handicap mentioned more than one time. It is pretty simple you see, the lower your handicap is the better golfer you are.

When you are using a handicap in a competition as an example: in order to beat a 16 handicap a golfer that has a 2 handicap will need a score that is around 15 strokes better that the one who has a score of 16 handicap. If the player that has a 16 handicap had a 18 hole score of 88 then the player that had a 2 handicap is going to have to have a score of around 73 and no lower.

Golf

The handicap can be calculated by a number of different golf associations. If you fall into the handicap category then you should keep a couple of things in mind. If you are a beginner then you should get some used or bulk golf balls. When you are purchasing those golf balls you may want to look into the best golf balls for high handicap. You may think there is something wrong with getting the best golf balls for high handicap but the truth is there is nothing wrong with this.

If you get the best golf balls for high handicap then you can count on succeeding. Once you get past the problem then you can start using normal balls again. If you are a high handicap golfer then we highly recommend you purchase the 2 piece distance balls that are known for going further. You will find these balls are good because they not only go further but they also have low spin rates that will reduce those slices and hooks.

You should know that the 2 piece distance golf balls do not cost that much so it is not going to break you at all. The truth is that almost anyone can afford the 2 piece distance golf balls. Many individuals that are high handicappers will also recommend you getting the 2 piece distance golf balls because this golf ball seems to have a lot of good reviews and there are many people out there who are saying the 2 piece distance golf balls are the best golf balls for high handicap. If you are going golfing with a friend and he or she is high handicapped when it comes to golfing then you may want to consider purchasing the 2 piece distance golf balls. We guarantee you he or she will thank you for purchasing these high handicapped golf balls.

The Official Rules of Golf Made Easy

The official rules of golf are governed by the Royal and Ancient in St. Andrews. They are the Worlds rules and development body for Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific and The Americas (outside the USA and Mexico). The United States Golf Association (USGA) is the game's governing body in the United States and Mexico.

Since 1952, the R & A and the USGA have worked together to continually review, revise and clarify the golf rules. The idea behind this is to have consistency for rules in golf, so that players all over the World can play with the same laws.

Golf

All PGA professional golfers should know every single golf rule as the penalty for not can be very costly for them. But for the casual golfer, there is normally much need of going into some of the complicated golf ball or club rules as regards to equipment specifications.

In this article, I will not go into all of the golf rules and regulations; instead we will look at etiquette and golf rules made easy for the average or casual golfer. Even if you are just playing for fun or if you occasionally enter local amateur golf tournaments, you will get more enjoyment out of the game if you know the more important basic golf rules.

Golf Etiquette

As golf is still considered to be "the gentleman's game", it is important to understand what behavior on the golf course is frowned upon. As golf is played without close supervision, it is up to the individual golfer to show integrity, honesty, and sportsmanship. This is what golf etiquette is all about - it is the spirit of the game of golf. Here are some more specific golf etiquette rules:

* Safety - Don't swing your club when someone is standing nearby and could be hit by your club, ball, or some other object.

* Don't tee off or hit your approach shot to the green until the group in front is well out of reach or have departed the green.

* When your ball is hit in the direction of someone and there is a danger that it may hit them, you are obliged to shout a warning such as "fore".

* If you loose your ball or think that it may be lost, you should first play a provisional ball. When looking for your ball, you should spend no more than five minutes doing so, and you should signal the group behind to play through if you are holding them up.

* Once your group has finished on the green, you should immediately vacate it to let the group behind play. Don't fill in your scorecard on the green, wait until you are well clear of the green to do so.

* If your group is consistently playing slower than the group behind, then let them play through. You should always be ready to play your shot when it is your turn.

* Show consideration to other golfers - don't make any noises, cast a shadow, or make movements when they are taking their shots.

* Tending the pin - if you are nearest to the pin when another player is taking their putt, it is customary to tend the pin.

* After hitting out of a bunker, you should rake away your footmarks and any other marks you make. In fact, golf etiquette dictates that you should leave the bunker in a better condition than you found it.

* On the green, you should repair the mark your ball made when it landed with your divot tool plus one other mark.

* You should always replace or fill in your divots on the fairway.

Basic Rules Of Golf

If you don't want to annoy your golf partners, you should learn the following basics:

* Golf club rules - the maximum number of clubs that you are allowed to carry is fourteen. There is nothing to say that you can't have two drivers or two different types of putter, just that the total number of clubs is limited to fourteen.

* Order of play - the player who tees off first has the "honors". In other words, the player who scored the lowest score on the previous hole. If it is the first hole, you can decide amongst yourselves or toss a coin. On the fairway or green, the player who is furthest from the green or hole goes first.

* When the ball is in play (after teeing off), you are not allowed to touch or move the ball until it is holed out. The exceptions being; on the green you can mark your ball to clean it before putting; when taking a drop, you have to lift your ball; or you have hit the ball out of bounds and you remove the ball.

* When on the fairway or especially in the rough or amongst trees, you can remove loose twigs and leaves from around your ball but the ball must not move when doing so.

* When teeing off, you have to place the ball between the two markers and never in front of them. You can stand outside of the teeing area to hit a ball that is inside, but you can't move the markers if they are in your way.

* When addressing the ball on the tee and the ball falls off, you may replace it without a penalty.

* On the green, you can remove any loose objects from your line of putt.

* When it is your turn to putt, you must wait until the previous player's ball has stopped moving.

* You will be penalized if you hit the flag stick with your ball while putting from on the green, but not from off the green.

* If you hit your ball into a water hazard or out of bounds, you must play another ball from the designated drop zone or from a position any distance behind the hazard (including the original position of where your ball was) but no closer to the hole - you will be penalized a stroke.

These are a few of the golf rules made easy to understand for the casual golfer so that they get more enjoyment out of the game and so that there are no conflicts between players.

There are many more that you should learn to have a full understanding of the game. You can download a PDF file of the R & A golf rules from their website and learn a few more every day.

Activities for Autistic Children

Q. Please can you offer some activity-based suggestions and PE/games options for autistic children that they can do at home or at school. Looking at two age groups here 7 - 10 and 11-16.

A. Parents, teachers, and other caregivers often get so caught up in educating and providing structure to the lives of autistic children that they forget that, above all, he or she is a child. Like any other child in his or her age group, your autistic child wants to have fun. While some activities may not be suitable for those suffering from autism, there are a number of fun games to play with autistic children, many of which can get them involved with others or help them further develop motor or social skills while just focusing on having a good time.

Golf

Autistic children in the elementary school age range can benefit greatly from song. Even children who do not verbally communicate with words can learn to hum along or play simple instruments, such as tambourines or whistles. Using sounds that are repetitive and with educational lyricshelps autistic children learn school lessons but also gives them an outlet for some of the sensory stimulation they need, such as yelling. Play follow the leader with the instruments to help the children focus their attention and improve socialization skills.

Depending on how mature your child is, he or she may also not only be able to participate in regular childhood games, but greatly benefit from them as well. These activities, including tag and other games, can be learned more easily than you think. Stick with games in which the autistic child is not forced to have close physical contact with other children, as this may be hurtful for autistic individuals. Also, remember to play to your child's strengths or what he or she wishes to learn. If he or she has a problem with yelling inappropriately, for example, encouraging him or her to be involved with a game of hide and seek may help curb this behavior.

Autistic children often wish to be included in games with non-autistic peers, and so this may help with the learning process. At home, focus on games that involve closer contact with trusted family members. For example, make it a game to get across the room without touching the floor. Perhaps the only route in some instances is to be carried. Remember that each child is different developmentally, so stay in tune with how challenging the activities should be.

As your child matures, he or she may want to be involved with organized sports. This should be encouraged, but choose your sport carefully. Golf, baseball, and other sports that do not involve strong personal sensory stimulation may be better for your child than something like tackle football. However, be open to all possibilities. Be sure the team's coach understands your child's disability and is willing to work with him or her.

At this later developmental stage, also continue encouraging learning activities. Sensory games work well to further teach these children, and as they mature emphasize the importance of appropriate behavior as you are playing these games. Using things like water balloons in games your child already enjoys is often as fun for children with autism. Also realize that an autistic individual has trouble seeing things from another's point of view. Therefore, they may be less likely to enjoy games in which something must be kept a secret from another person (like go-fish).

Overall, you and your child need to grow together. Remember that although he or she has many special needs, sometimes your child needs to simply be a kid as well. Encourage play along with work, and realize that games and activities for autistic children may fulfil two key elements, socialization skills for life and learning to enjoy playing with their peers.

Selecting The Best Hybrid Golf Clubs

You may have heard the term "hybrid golf clubs" and are wondering what all the fuss is about. The truth is that hybrids have been around longer than you think. They just weren't called hybrids. Have you ever heard of a rescue club or a baffler? That's a hybrid! A hybrid is designed to replace woods and irons. By mixing the best features of both clubs, your typical golfer will be able to keep the ball up in the air longer when facing a long approach shot. Recent changes in the innovative design have made them increasingly popular. No matter where you live, you can get your hands on a hybrid if you know where to look. The question is--where can I find the best club for me?

A beginner will have a harder time choosing the best golf club. As a golf player becomes more experienced, they are better able to discern what type of club works best for their particular game style. A player just starting out would be wise to choose a club designed for their skill level. Otherwise, they will find themselves struggling to control the ball because advanced clubs are less tolerant to mishaps.

Golf

For women, consider purchasing a golf club with a shaft made of lighter-weight graphite. Meanwhile, men will probably prefer a heavier club (made of steel) except for some woods. It is also an appropriate club for those who have a lower swing. If you're looking for a bargain, here's a tip. Go to a local retail outlet that sells golf equipment and test some out. Once you find one that feels good and is of high quality, you can purchase the club at a discount online. GigaGolf.com is a good site to check out. They have clubs made of both steel and graphite. The Callaway Fusion is one of the best lines they offer.

The most pricey club in the Calloway line is the FT-Hybrid model. The steel club runs at 9, while the graphite is 9. For a slightly cheaper club, there's the X-Hybrid model (5 for steel; 9 for graphite). A couple of other nice clubs are the Slingshot Hybrid and the Slingshot Tour Hybrid. They cost 9 (for either the graphite or steel)

Whether you're a pro or an amateur, a utility golf club can really step up the quality of your game. There are lots to choose from, and they're clearly superior to the hybrids of old. The bottom line: they can simply make you a better golf player. You should definitely give some thought to expanding your repertoire to include a hybrid golf club--and kiss those irons good-bye forever!

CordeValle Golf Course - Great Golf in Northern California

Every place has something that makes it unique from every other place. Many of those places are simply beautiful. The distinctive beauty of Northern California has been put on display by the PGA Tour with fall events. The tour has provided the world with a potential new destination for luxury golf vacations.

CordeValle Golf Course

Golf

Have you ever seen a place and thought, "Wow, I'd like to be right there!" Not a general location, or even a more narrow area (like the back nine at some course, or the south of France) but a pinpoint spot on the map. When coverage of the PGA Tour's Frys.com Open cuts away to the leaderboard or as they go to commercial, a camera was set among the hills overlooking the golf course and valley. It seems to be right below a grove of trees and it's simply beautiful!. It's one of "those" places. Golf in California has never had a better ad as that one camera shot.

Unlike Blackhawk, CordeValle is a golf resort in San Martin, just south of San Jose. The lush natural beauty of the valley and surrounding hill is awe-inspiring, even as fall ushers in dormant grasses and begins to take the green away.

Robert Trent Jones, Jr. undoubtedly sees this course as one of his masterpieces. It would have been tough to build a bad course on the 260 acres where CordeValle is set, but Jones maximized the variety given to him; elevation changes, meadows, streams, hill peaks, and canyons. The result was a fantastic, 7,100-plus yard course that is sure to be a magnet for drawing golfers to the area, especially after its innaugural PGA Tour tournament.

Course and Resort Awards and Recognition

If you aren't convinced about what the course offers, here's a sampling:

#7 Best Course You Can Play in California (Golfweek)
Premier Resorts: Best in Your Area: California's Best Golf, no. 4; Best Lodging, no. 2 (Golf.com)
#21 on the 2009 75 Best Golf Resorts in North America list (Golf Digest)

That isn't all, but you can see that the course and resort are among the best, and appear to be getting even better.

The PGA Tour got it right by showcasing Northern California golf courses in the fall. There's no other place on Earth like it. Maybe Governor Schwarzeneger was right in saying if you visit, you'll be back. From what this tiny corner of the state has to offer, it looks like he was correct.

How To Golf Begins With Your Set-Up

The very first and basic fundamentals of golf are to be on the balls of your feet with your knees flexed and your feet about shoulder-width apart. These three fundamentals are crucial to the golf game. If your feet are too far apart, you can't shift your weight properly and if they are too close, you will lose your balance. If your legs are too straight with no flex, you are not going to be in control of the golf ball. Poor posture equals a bad golf swing.

Here is the proper way to set-up. First, stand straight with your feet about shoulder-width apart. Your feet should be slightly open with your left toe, your right if your a lefty, a little more open than your right foot. This will make it a lot easier to turn your lower body through impact. Your right shoulder should be a little lower than your left shoulder. This will make it much easier for you to grip your club, as well as, put you in the right position. Next, bend from the waist and keep your spine angle straight. Don't bend over too far and don't let your shoulders slump, you'll want to keep your spine angle straight throughout the golf swing. Now, bend your knees slightly and keep them bent, as you go through the swing. Shift your weight to your front foot, as you complete your swing. If you have done this correctly, you should finish facing your target and in balance. If your are falling back or away from the ball, you're not shifting your weight properly to your front foot. This is a very common problem with a lot of beginners and fixing this will make a tremendous difference in your golf game. Use these two golf drills to help you get there. They will seem awkward at first, but try it until you begin to get it. First, when you set-up, lean and put most of your weight on your front foot and hit some balls. This will help you to learn how to end up with your weight on your front foot. Another trick is to place a golf ball underneath the outer edge of your back foot. Stand on it and make some swings and hit a few balls and this will all but force you to shift your weight onto your front foot.

Golf

Another tip that I learned from watching Tiger Woods is to stick your rear end out. Yes, you heard me right. This will help to counter-balance your top half and it will help you to keep your spine angle straight and to keep you in form. Also, remember that your neck is an extension of your spine, so keep your chin up because if your head slumps, it will restrict your backswing. You always here, keep your head down. No, keep your chin slightly up and keep your eyes down on your ball through impact.

Another golf tip that I want to add is to not stand to far away from your ball. This will cause stiffness and tension in the shoulders and will probably result in a slice. You should never be reaching for your ball. After setting up your stance, just let your arms hang freely and that's where you grip your golf club. The longer the club, the farther you'll stand from your ball, but your arms position will remain the same. These golf tips should make quite an impact on your game. See you on the blog side.

Golf Shaft Fitting Guide - Shaft Profiles Part I

The role of golf shaft fitting has always been a profound one. The golf shaft and club head are in need of constant communication and feedback for the relationship to flourish. When communication breaks down, intervention is needed. The professional tandem of the club fitter and Launch Monitor is there to "listen," measure, analyze and diagnose. To intervene and help mend those differences that have built over the golf seasons.

Jesting aside, we all know the holy grail to bombing those Saturday morning drives is a perfectly aligned club head and shaft to the swing. My goal today is to provide a general and simple guideline that will allow you to "eyeball" shafts by category, based on your swing profile. If you do decide to "go it alone" or bypass the help of your local club fitter and Launch Monitor, you will need a solid system to make educated decisions.

Golf

Introducing the Shaft Profile System (SPS).

But first, let's get a disclaimer out of the way. Nothing replaces the benefits you'll receive from getting fitted with a Launch Monitor. This undoubtedly is the best and most accurate way of getting fitted today.

OK, now on with a high level definition of the system.

There are three variables used in the Shaft Profile System, Trajectory, Torque, and Weight. Since shaft flex is an option within every conceivable shaft selection, we dismissed this as a criteria. We are focusing on the true variables that occur within shaft models in an attempt to predispose you to a selection of shafts that might suit your game.

Below, are the variables and short definitions used in the Shaft Profile System:

Trajectory is defined as the ability to promote the ball airborne. This is influenced by many things but mainly the Bend Point and Tip Flexibility of the shaft. The higher the Bend, the lower the trajectory.

Torque is defined as the amount or measurement of rotational twisting that occurs at the tip of the shaft. The lower the Torque, the less twisting occurs.

Weight is measured by the raw, uncut shaft. Very important and significantly undervalued performance indicator of the shaft. The weight is a very big contributor of control and distance.

There you have it, three variables we will use to align shafts to a player. We will be matching shaft profiles with the player skill level, swing speed, and swing tempo to come up with "suggested" shafts that fit your game.

Golf shaft fitting is a part scientific, part subjective with a dash of intuitiveness. Using the Shaft Profile System will allow us to make very educated golf shaft decisions based on the player swing and profile. Stay tuned because the next post will delve much deeper into this shaft profile system.

South Carolina Golf Vacations - Four Coastal Golf Package Destinations in South Carolina

Don't worry about making a bad choice when you are looking to book a coastal South Carolina golf vacation. With nicknames like "The Golf Mecca" and "The Golf Island" and recognitions like the "No. 1 golf resort in the United States," you will have a hard time not enjoying your golf trip in the Palmetto State. But if you can not take a leave of absence from work and enjoy all the great golf destinations in South Carolina, how do you choose where to book your trip.

Well hopefully I can help. Below you will find a quick glimpse into the four main golf package destinations on the South Carolina coast. I am not going to play favorites and award one location as the best. Instead, I just hope to make your decision a little more clear.

Golf

Myrtle Beach - "The Golf Mecca" and "The Golf Capital of the World" are just two of the nicknames for Myrtle Beach, SC. This golf hot spot is also probably the most well-known golf destination in the Palmetto State. The Grand Strand (another nickname) covers an area of about 80 miles and offers about 100-plus golf courses. When it comes to choice of golf courses, this destination offers the vacationing golfer the most quantity and styles of golf courses.

Myrtle Beach is also a more popular tourist destination that the other South Carolina locations. The beaches are world-famous and so are the crowds at times. So don't expect - even in the slowest of seasons - not to encounter large crowds both on and off the golf courses. But if you are looking for a destination that offers the best deals on golf and bargain packages, then this might be the spot for your next trip.

Hilton Head Island - Hilton Head, an island that is 12 miles long and 5 miles wide, is known as "The Golf Island." When you look at a satellite image of the golf courses packed on this coastal South Carolina destination you will understand why. You will have around 20 golf courses on the island and nearby to choose from on your trip.

Hilton Head vacations are more upscale than Myrtle Beach trips. Don't expect all-you-can-eat seafood buffets and neon t-shirt beachwear stores on every corner. Instead, you are more likely to find fine dining and upscale clothing shops. You can also expect your golf course and golf package bills to be a bit higher than they are on the Grand Strand. You will also find the crowds a little more sparse when you are off the course enjoying activities like tennis, biking, relaxing at the beach, shopping, kayaking and more.

Kiawah Island - When you really want to go upscale on your South Carolina golf vacation, choose the secluded, golf paradise known as Kiawah Island. The world-class golf courses fit right in with the beautiful natural environment of the island. And yes, this is the golf destination that Travel + Leisure Golf Magazine ranked as the "No. 1 golf resort in the United States."

Enjoy a villa overlooking one of the golf courses, a quiet, private home with a waterway view or turn the luxury-meter up to ten at the Sanctuary hotel. Wherever you decide to stay, Kiawah Island is a first-class golf vacation with first-class prices. You will not find the bargains you would find at Myrtle Beach here.

Charleston - This Lowcountry location is not as well-known as the other three golf destinations but do not write Charleston, South Carolina off when it you are deciding on where to have your next golf trip. The quantity of golf courses is not as large as Hilton Head or Myrtle Beach but the quality of the courses is definitely equal. Expect your Charleston package prices to fall below Kiawah and somewhere between Myrtle Beach and Hilton Head.

Charleston's trump card might be its more diverse offerings off the golf course You can tour the historic city on a self-guided walking tour or off your feet on a horse-drawn carriage. You can kick back on one of the beautiful beaches on Isle of Palms, Folly Beach or Sullivans Island.

There is plenty of upscale shopping downtown on King Street and world-class dining on every block of the city. You can enjoy more Southern history at one of the many plantations. And if you enjoy communing with nature, then take a moonlight trip on a kayak. These are just the tip of the iceberg for activities off the golf course when you book a golf package in Charleston.

Each South Carolina golf vacation destination mentioned above offers a great golfing experience. Hopefully, the above information will help with your decision on a location to book your golf package.

Custom Golf Bags To Meet All Your Needs

Custom golf bags can be made available in all colors, designs and sizes from an increasing number of companies who are providing customization services including provision of designer logos and simple embroidered designs and messages.

The standard products are no longer satisfactory to many people for whom standardization is equated with the ordinary, and must have customized products to suit their own particular characters and personalities.

Golf

Show Your Team Colors

Traditional customizing services are still available from companies who can manufacture custom golf bags in your chosen color and choice of design. You can have your choice of sports team logo, such as football, basketball or baseball team, featured on your bag, which can also be made in your team's colors. If you are too busy on the golf course to watch you favorite team live, you can make a statement of your allegiance on your golf bag.

You can also have your own company corporate logo featured on your bag, and custom golf bags can be provided as gifts from the larger and richer corporations to their favored customers. It is also possible to design your own logo and embroidered designs can be made to order to be incorporated in the bag of your choice.

Keep The Ladies Happy With A Fashion Statement

This type of customization has gone further now, with fashion being a common feature of custom golf bags and a wide range of golfing accessories are now available to match the golf bag itself. These include handbags, clothing, rainwear, umbrellas and even designer tees and balls. The high costs normally associated with type of customization is now being commonly avoided with the provision of custom golf bags off the shelf, and the standard level of customization can be further personalized with a few simple inexpensive options.

All types of golf bags can be customized and custom golf bags are available in carry bag, stand bag, cart bag and travel bag designs. Customized travel bags are especially popular, where the travel case can be designed to suit the customer and be used with any golf bag.

Six-Packs, Babies, Cats and Dogs!

Highly colored custom golf bags are increasing in popularity, though customization is not only used as a fashion statement. Many golfers use custom golf bag services to design golf bags to their own specific practical requirements. For example, many bags are designed to hold six-packs and other drinks requirements and others are made to match the women's favorite golfing outfits.

Customization is becoming increasingly sophisticated, and it will not be long before cart bags are available with baby carriers and slings so that the whole family can go golfing together. That's what you call starting early, and I won't even mention facilities for the family cats and dogs!

Golf Instruction - Preventing Golf Course Headaches!

One of the most outstanding golfers of all time, the legendary Bobby Jones, made a comment once that captures in a nutshell why it is necessary to find capable and valuable golf instruction. It was Jones' opinion that "One reason golf is such an exasperating game is that a thing we learned is so easily forgotten, and we find ourselves struggling year after year with faults we had discovered and corrected time and again." If you have spent any time at all on the golf course, you will probably realize that this is the case in your own game. Without purposeful instruction and mindfulness, some of those little faults that plague our individual games will often creep in again and again!

Why Golf Instruction Matters

Golf

This is why quality instruction makes such a difference in becoming (and remaining) a better golfer. Often, preventing the habits that adversely affect the golf game requires some consistent reinforcement so that you maintain improvements seen on the course. Simply spending time on the course will not do the trick - it is vital to practice, of course, but there are also specific improvements that only come through the best instruction. If Bobby Jones was right (and would you want to argue with him?), the things that improve our performance in driving, pitching, putting, or even course management can easily be forgotten.

Overcoming the Forgotten Elements of Golf

There are so many important aspects that go into the task of playing good golf; it isn't possible to keep them all in mind at once. This fact means that the most success will come from internalizing these elements through good golf instruction... and being aware of when one segment of the game starts to slip a little bit.

Many golfers tend to see one part of their game at an unprecedented level of success, say hitting almost all of their fairways from the tee... but then another part of their game seems to drop off, such as chipping. Packaging the two skills together can seem like an impossibility at times, and that isn't even discussing the short game.

Having quality instruction can make all the difference in putting the pieces together for performance improvement, because it can help you internalize the pieces of the puzzle. It is not a statement about the quality of the golfer, either. The great Jack Nicklaus once advised, "Don't be too proud to take a lesson. I'm not." If the Golden Bear sees the value of good instruction, then perhaps there is something in it for anyone who enjoys playing golf?
