Golf Balls supply a Multitude of Choices

Golf Balls were once wooden, and the game of golf was a short range game played on links. The amelioration of 'featheries', a 17th century ball of goose feathers stuffed in a leather pouch allowed for our contemporary idea of the 'long-game' to institute - featheries flew additional when struck.  In the mid eighteen hundreds the guttie ball replaced the featherie. Made from the rubber like sap of the Sapodilla tree, a guttie not only flew farther, but its flight was truer. The guttie balls also had small outside imperfections that improved the aerodynamics and led to our contemporary dimpled balls.

Golf ball technology continues to evolve and today's golfers have a multitude of choice. Any type of ball for any level of golfer. Regulation balls for approved play, short flight custom balls, whiffle balls, novelty balls and Rfid Transponder balls which are beneficial on a driving range transmitting data together with the distance and accuracy of your target shooting. You can also get used and recycled balls which have been graded for quality.. And for the golfer that enjoys a bit of tom-foolery, you can find exploding balls, trick balls and novelty golf balls as well.

Golf Balls

Choosing the right golf balls is part science and part personal preference. Golf balls today fall into two basic categories - balls for amateur or recreational players (those with low swing speed) and balls for the physically strong player (with a higher swing speed). It is important to pick the right ball for your playing capability because the level of compression, the firmness of the core and the number of layers in the ball will all consequent spin rates and distance. Have your swing tested for speed at your local driving range, then armed with this facts you can pick the proper ball type and style for your golf game. Color can be a factor in your option - will you pick original white, or a high visibility color ball?

Golf balls are the smallest pieces of your equipment, next to the tee, but there is no single option you can make that will have more impact on your game.  Using the right ball will mean truer flight, great targeting, and greater distance for your game.

How to Hit a Golf Ball added

Every golfer would like to hit their golf ball further. However, hitting the golf ball a long way isn't everything in golf. It won't warrant lower scores, but...if you can hit the golf ball added you can make the game a whole lot easier!

Just being able to add an extra 20 yards off the tee can mean the discrepancy in the middle of an 8 iron and a wedge into the green. When you can use shorter irons for your advent shots, you can get nearer the pin, and your putts get easier. Result: your score should drop!

Golf Balls

Take a look at the tour pros. Granted they may not all have the all-round game of Tiger Woods, but they can all hit it a long way, and many of them can out drive Tiger by quite some distance.

Pros are also able to hit the ball these long distances with what appears to be comparative ease. Ernie Els looks incredibly relaxed when he swings, but still averages nearby 300yards with a driver.

So, how do the pros hit it so far and how do they seem to do it with so miniature effort?

It easily is quite simple: They generate much higher club head speed and they do that primarily with the use of their hands.

Here is how you can do it too...

1) Relax your grip

You cannot swing the club fast if you are gripping it too tightly as your muscles in the hands and arms will be too tense. So grip it "lightly".

2) Load the club

Make sure you cock the wrists fully at the top of the swing. This will "load" the club into a position where it can be released later in the swing. If you do not cock the wrist fully the club is only going to swing basically as fast as you can swing your arms.

3) issue the club at impact

Make sure you contend that wrist cock until as late as possible in the down swing then just before your hands reach the lowest of the swing you "release" the club i.e. You un-cock the wrists. Delaying the issue as long as possible gives you time to accelerate the arms and then the extra acceleration while the issue generates a huge speed growth in the club head. More club head speed equals more distance.

Test yourself with this drill:

Take short swings (with a 7 iron) concentrating on maximum wrist cock and maximum issue with minimum arm movement. You will be surprised how far the ball goes just with the use of the hands and not much else. Now add this movement to the full swing and see how far the ball flies!

So, relax, load and release...and watch the ball fly!

custom Golf Balls For Increased Sales

Anyone who doubts the advantage that convention golf balls can give to players should make themselves aware of Nike's admission after being sued, that Tiger Woods uses convention golf balls which are ready to the public. The case was brought by public Remedies due to Tiger Woods endorsing balls which he did not, in fact, use himself on the expert circuit and therefore mislead the public.

Tiger's Balls are separate To Yours!

Golf Balls

It was admitted by Nike that the balls used had a harder outer and inner core than approved balls to suit his style of play, but claimed that this was not unusual for definite golfers. This shows that if you are able to have convention golf balls made to suit your definite game that you will have an advantage over golfers using quarterly balls, no matter how good the are purported to be.

This, of course, should not come as a surprise, since who surely believes that the top professionals are using approved golf clubs or any other golfing equipment? Even their umbrellas are probably more rainproof than the standard, and fitted with sensors to direct the rain towards their competitors!

Custom Golf Balls Are Marketing Tools

However, that apart, there are other ways in which custom golf balls can be produced that do not involve changing the construction specification. Logo balls, for example are convention golf balls that are great for marketing. Get you business name or logo put onto convention golf balls and use them as free giveaways at trade fairs and conventions, and you have a inherent thousands of budding customers being exposed to your business for relatively diminutive outlay.

Many companies are using convention balls as part of their advertising strategy, and there are professionals who specialize in providing this type of marketing. The balls are ordinarily of good quality and presented in customized corporate gift boxes reflecting high standards and good taste.

Good Marketing Increases Sales

You can put your own name on your ball - no opening then of your ball being confused with someone else's. Remember James Bond and his Penfold Hearts? Penfold made a fortune in golf ball sales after the release of Goldfinger. The power of free advertising should not be underestimated, and what good free advertising than convention golf balls with your own name. Your business name or even your product stamped or decaled on it.

Gps to a Hole In One!

Think of the future. Gps golf balls are now under development, so that you tell at once your length and direction. But will it stop there? How about being the first with convention balls fitted with Gps sensors which make diminutive adjustments to the spin of the ball to land it on the fairway or green exactly where you have pre-programmed it?

What then the future of golf?

What a Load of Golf Balls

Through out the history of golf the golf ball has evolved more than any other piece of tool used in the game. From the very first wooden balls followed by the feathery to the newest 4 piece, high energy core, tungsten weighted, titanium, super thin covered, go added go straighter last forever golf ball, advances in science and the materials used in manufacturing has taken that small white thing to a new level of performance.

At the occasion in my shop I have 36 dissimilar balls to pick from and there are plentifulness more types I could stock. This being the case it is difficult for a golfer to pick which is the right ball for them especially when they all claim to be the best thing since the couch potato was given the remote control.

Golf Balls

The number one

Titleist golf balls have been known for many years as 'The number 1 Ball in Golf' and it is true that more tour players over the world use a Titleist ball. Some golfers think that if Ernie Els is playing with a Titleist then they should play with a Titleist as well, however, that is not necessarily the case. Believe it or not in among this huge selection there is the right ball for you and the ball you pick to play with needs to suit your requirements and level of skill.

In my view the huge range of golf balls on the store can be broken down into 5 categories.

1) Budget

2) Hard

3) Medium

4) Soft

5) Swing speed

If you are a beginner, or lose a lot of golf balls, then buying funds balls is the best thing to do. These are often packaged in 15 ball boxes and are a hard durable ball that will generally go added when you hit them. The draw back of this ball is that it is very tantalizing off of the club face and when it comes to chipping and putting can lack some of the soft feel that some golfers prefer.

The harder golf balls such as Topflite Xl 3000, or Callaway Cb1 are perfect for the golfer who doesn't lose too many balls but could do with more length off the tee. These balls are not as hard as the funds type, but are durable and offer some feel nearby the green although they still won't stop very speedily on landing.

If you want the composition of distance, feel and stamina then balls such as the Titleist Nxt Tour, the Callaway Hex 2 or the Strata Tour level are ideal. These are all what I call a medium ball giving the golfer consistent execution in all areas.

The top players in the world all use soft golf balls. Up until about 4 years ago the cover of the ball was authentically soft adequate to mark with your finger nail and marked very authentically when miss hit. This meant that only the best ball strikers, or golfers with more money than sense, would use them. These days the covers on these balls are very durable and the ball will spin and stop very speedily on and nearby the greens.
The foremost balls in this class are Titleist Pro V1, Callaway Hex, Strata Tour Ace, Hogen Apex Tour and the Maxfli M3. These balls are artificial to the highest specification and potential and every golfer could play and enjoy them. They are however very costly at about £10 for 3 balls if you are a bit wayward with your shots then it could cost a fortune in golf balls.

When it comes to swing speed some players just cannot swing the golf club very quickly. If this is the case some manufacturers are now making balls specifically for those of you who struggle to get any length because you just can't hit it hard enough! The Maxfli Noodle ball is perfect for anyone who has a slow swing and they are durable and affordable.

Whichever ball you choose, try to stick with that ball every time you play. You will get used to the feel and performances of the ball, which in turn will help, play more consistent golf.

Collectible Golf Balls

Collection of golf equipments, such as clubs and balls, started in a big way about 30 years ago. Flea markets and garage sales are still hotbeds for collectors of these items, but most of the collectible pieces have nowadays, become very hard to come by as avid collectors have most of them in their personal collections. The oldest golf balls, known as feather balls, were used for some hundred years throughout the 1850s. These balls featured leather outer skins nothing else but stuffed with feathers, agreeing to the Collector's Encyclopedia of Golf Collectibles by John M. Olman. One usually thinks of feathers as soft, however, when the ball is filled with enough feathers to fill a top hat, it becomes quite hard, explains Olman in the text. The "Featheries", as they were also called, with a manufacturer's mark are most needful and desirable ones. They can be worth hundreds or even thousands to the right collector. Even those without a maker's mark will nothing else but fetch you more than 0.

A new type of golf ball known as a "gutty" by collectors was industrialized colse to 1848. These balls were made of gutta percha, a hard rubbery substance made from milky juice obtained from a tree very coarse in Malaysia. Although they were widely used from the late 1800s till about 1910, not many of these true antiques are extant in the market today. When collectors do come over a gutty ball for sale, they'll pay at least 0 to own it in most cases. From about 1898 to 1930, rubber core golf balls came to be favored by golfers. These are also collectibles but do not have a high price tag as that of the older balls. Ordinarily selling in the to price range, which is still an exorbitant sum for a little golf ball, population just beginning to focus on construction their golf collections often buy these examples. Contemporary balls (made after 1930) don't hold much value as of now barring the exceptions of a few novelty and celebrity balls. Hence, as the saying goes- the older the better, is quite right.

custom Golf Balls And History

Pretty much, the history of the golf ball is about customization. So the convention golf balls firm is not entirely new, albeit the purpose is different.

Made of wood from its birth in the 1100s, the golf ball was re-designed in the seventeenth century and was called a featherie. It was called so because it was made of goose feathers and leather. The process was to sew the feathers inside the leather-shaped like a ball-and then boil it. While cooling, the feathers expanded and the leather shrunk, giving the ball a great flight characteristic-something very foremost in the nature of the sport.

Golf Balls

The main qoute with the featherie is its durability. Since it was hand sewn, the stitches were not strong sufficient to hold the leather if played during wet season. The stitches break and the balls burst when they hit solid surfaces. Other downside, agreeing to golf history, is that it takes a whole day for an specialist golf ball maker to make only two featheries. This makes the labor high-priced and the golf ball itself much more expensive. agreeing to history, a singular golf ball in the seventeenth century cost 3 shillings, which is equivalent to four hundred Us dollars today. So just imagine of the ball burst, there goes your four hundred dollars.

Since it was the most accepted golf ball of the time, the featherie was the accepted golf ball for two centuries.

Then came Robert Alan-Paterson in 1848, he created the guttie or gutta-perhca ball. It was made of dried sap of the Sapodilla tree which has a rubbery characteristic and was as a matter of fact shaped and molded when heated. The accidental defects in the output of these balls proved to have good flight characteristic than perfectly shaped balls. This led manufacturers to intentionally originate balls with defects. The birth of the contemporary golf ball maybe attributed to Coburn Haskell, a man who spun a rubber thread into a ball.

Now, convention golf balls are just about everywhere. Golf balls are customized agreeing to player preference and purpose. There are only two categories of golf balls: the recreational and the advance.

Recreational gold balls are economy and are designed for amateurs. These balls are made of a maximum of two layers. Developed golf balls are made for professionals and much more expensive. Developed golf balls are made of three to four layers of materials.

The most coarse convention golf balls are the balls that are not allowed in tournaments or professional games. Most of these balls are designed whether for pranks or to make the game for the player easier. One of the types of these convention golf balls is the floater. This golf ball will float on the water. In a professional game, golf balls should not float on water. Other one is the breakaway-used for pranks.

The breakaway convention golf balls shatter when hit because these balls are fragile and hollow. This gives a laughing moment for all to have-players, watchers, and caddies alike. convention golf balls are also designed for use as gifts or souvenirs in conventions.

Golf Balls - The devotee Guide

Golf Balls - How a small, round, dimpled sphere has the power to alter your game. In today's game, golf balls have come to be high-tech super-spheres that claim to do everything but hit themselves! One beloved golf ball claims 'long length and super feel', someone else 'longer distance, more spin and control' and a third 'ultimate length and control'. Confused? Might as well select a golf ball based on the colour of the box!

But wait! Playing the right golf ball for your game Will heighten your doing and widespread enjoyment of the game. It's just a matter of cutting straight through the spin to find that ball.

Golf Balls

To help you in your quest for the excellent golf ball, we'll take you on a journey from the humble beginnings of the golf ball straight through to today's technologically developed balls.

The Early Days
In general, the larger the bag the heavier it will be - despite help from durable lightweight materials. Although the lightest designs now weigh in below 3lb, extra lumbar and/or hip padding is ready for comfort and can make a real difference

In the earliest days of golf, some 500 years ago, players used primitive equipment to play the game in a rather haphazard and casual manner. The golf ball has undergone many upgrades and enhancements throughout its long life, with several positive stages:

Wooden - Used from the mid 15th century, the first golf balls were made from hardwoods such as beech. Often used in conjunction with wooden clubs, a round of golf would have been a particularly jarring experience.

Featherie - In 1618 the Featherie golf ball was invented and was used for nearly 250 years. These balls were made by stuffing wet goose feathers into a hand stitched wet leather ball. As it dried the leather shrunk and the feathers extensive creating a hard and covenant ball. This time consuming process ensured the price was out of reach of the masses, often selling for more than the price of a club.

Guttie - Rev Dr Robert Adams Paterson created the first golf balls made from Gutta-percha in 1848. The ball was created from the dried sap of the tropical sapodilla tree, which was heated up and formed into ball shapes. The improved doing and cheaper costs of the Guttie contributed greatly to the expansion of the game.

Hand Hammered Guttie - It was also discovered that improperly smoothed balls often had a truer flight than the smoother versions, and the Hand Hammered Guttie Ball, with an even pattern hammered on by hand, was born. By 1890, golf balls were formed in iron moulds, and the Bramble design, with raised spherical bumps resembling a raspberry, became the most beloved ball of the Guttie era.

Rubber - The advent of the rubber ball changed the face of golf as we know it. Invented by Coburn Haskell in 1898 it featured a solid rubber core wrapped in rubber thread. Early Gutta-percha covers soon gave way to the Balata cover that was introduced in the early 1900s. Although they looked like Gutties, the average golfer could gain an extra 20 yards off the tee. So the guttie gave way to the aerodynamically excellent dimple pattern, first used in 1908 and still being used today.

Today's Golf Balls - Wonders of Multi-Layer Construction
In modern years, the wound golf ball has largely been substituted by multilayer balls, resulting in a bewildering selection of golf balls. To simplify, contemporary golf balls can be broken down into three main categories.

Two Piece. This is a tough, durable golf ball usually with a large, solid inner core and a hard Surlyn cover, ordinarily designed to maximise length straight through a high commence angle and low levels of spin

Our Recommendation. Two-piece golf balls are what every beginner should play. With less spin you are less likely to hook or slice the ball. At the same time you are likely to hit the ball further. The price of two-piece balls tends to be less, meaning that they won't take a large bite out of your funds when they end up in the lake or the rough!

Multi-Layer. Typically made of three or four layers in which the core is wrapped in one or two layers, the multi layer golf ball is usually preferred by Tour players for the extra operate it offers.

Three-piece. These have a large artificial core, a thin mantel and a cover. Sometimes, tungsten weights are used in the middle of the artificial core for optimised weight centering.

Four-piece. These multi-layer golf balls have a smaller inner core, surrounded by an outer core, similar to the three-piece ball. This is then surrounded by a thin mantel and a cover. Multi-layer balls are ordinarily more expensive, and considerable to the more experienced golfer. They tend to have much best operate and feel nearby the green, furnish more spin, but don't voyage as far and are less forgiving on hooks and slices.

Our Recommendation. Multi-layer golf balls are best for the best player who can appreciate the benefits of extra spin operate over and above distance.

Wound. Much less base in today's game, wound golf balls have a central core that has been wrapped in rubber thread and then usually covered in Balata cover. These balls tend to be less durable and often will not hold up to the average player's round. They offer fabulous feel and have great spin, though, stopping faster on the green - but the trade-off is a lack in distance. Also, their doing is affected by the temperature, with their length and widespread doing deteriorating in temperatures below 20°C.

Very few citizen still use the wound balata ball, and it is likely to be substituted altogether by the multi-layer ball. However, some professionals still like the fabulous feel and spin operate required for finesse shots nearby the green.

Our Recommendation. This ball is only unmistakably suitable for the best of the very best golfers.

Play to your strengths
Today's golf balls use sophisticated construction techniques that have a direct impact on distinct aspects of the game, including driving distance, coming control, putting roll, equilibrium and cost. You should opt your ball according to which one suits the most foremost aspect of your game - what you need most help with. Here's our summary:

If you need length (Ideal for mid to high handicappers)
Too much spin will make the ball fly too high, and too limited will reduce carry. If you need length and forgiveness go for a hard ball. The combined firmness of the cover and core allow the ball to voyage longer distances and be very durable, but be aware it won't stop as well on the green.

If you need spin (Ideal for best players)
A spin ball is constructed with a cover that generates more spin when struck with a lofted club. This ball is best considerable to play draw and fade shots nearby obstacles and will stop well on the green. However, it will also be easier to slice or hook shots.

If you are looking for ultimate control - length and spin combined (Ideal for very serious players)
A operate golf ball has the characteristics of a length ball with the ability to stop quickly on the green, with allegedly less risk of hooking or slicing the golf ball than a pure spin ball.

Other considerations

Slow Swingers. For golfers with a slower swing speed, it is advisable to use a golf ball that is designed to maximise the driving length for the slower club head speed.
Ideal for ladies, seniors and less considerable players

Putting Perfection. distinct makes and models of golf ball will roll distinct distances on the putting green, with harder balls tending to roll further. Bear in mind more costly balls are likely to roll truer as well, due to best balancing.

Play to your budget. It is best to play consistently with a golf ball you can afford rather than a selected ball that you cannot afford to custom with. Also playing with damaged balls will impact on your game, so it is best to play an affordable ball and replace it regularly.

And finally - Golf Ball Myths

More dimples supervene in a higher trajectory. This is not true. The optimum number of dimples on a golf ball is between 350 and 450. It is the spinning performance of the golf ball, along with the depth of the dimples that determines the trajectory.

Golf balls voyage additional when they are warm. Partly true, as colder temperatures will decrease a golf ball's velocity more than warm temperatures. However it is the air climatic characteristic that has more impact on the balls length than the climatic characteristic of the ball.
